A few of my life philosophies

1) Buy Once, Cry Once
Good gear is not always expensive-cheap gear always is. Just depends on when it fails
2) Life is a Pass/Fail Evolution- only there is no retest
3) If you aren’t playing for all the marbles, you are just playing- See above.
This stuff matters, treat it as so. There’s a reason no sport exists called Full Contact Gun Fighting. Its real or it’s just playing.
4) Planning to Improvise is Planning to FAIL!!!!!!
-this is as close to an absolute as it gets. Don’t believe improvisation is a strategy, it WILL kill you when it matters. If its just you, the herd needed thinning anyway. But if you have a team or a family relying on you to do your job, you just screwed them too. Consider the next time this thinking comes up.
5) Crazy trumps everything
It is truth, when people think you are crazy, they WILL leave you alone. But it pushes some of the good people away too. Consider your outer rep and persona, you might be missing some great people along the way.
6) Choose not to feel superior to your fellow man, strive to be superior to the man you were yesterday
I hope this requires no explanation.
7) Price/Aggravation ratio
If something you buy saves you aggravation and frustration later it’s probably worth it. You have to decide where the cash outlay meets the aggravation it prevents. As I get older, aggravation is less tolerable than it used to be. Not to mention, if you think your stuff is together and ready, its a huge stress reliever.
8) 2 Is One, 1 is None
Duplicate everything. No you don’t have to have 2 of everything, but make sure items like tools or equipment necessary for critical tasks are duplicated in your family or group
9)There comes a time in every active person’s life, when he or she is confronted with some immediate danger that cannot be avoided, and all that’s left is to stand your ground and shoot it out.
