M855a1/ Mk318 Issues and solutions
This article is very telling about the issues forthcoming with the current 556 ammunition and some truths
First is, the online booger eaters who say one caliber is better than another are thoroughly full of shit. Like I have argued for many years, every one I’ve shot with certain calibers has gone down. Right down, and stayed down. And they might still be where they fell. I never went back to look. Really doesn’t matter does it? They aren’t a threat to me any longer…..
Posts about how super one caliber is over another, and cite specific instances of failures are not credible unless there are wound studies done after. The reality is did the bad guy loose, did the good guy win? Shot placement is from you to god as truth.
Don’t blame shitty results for shitty shooting.
Get over yourself and how super secret delta ranger you think you are because you went to 1, 3 day school with a super secret delta ranger high-speed instructor and you got a t-shirt for it. And all the BS he told you, because you paid him to fill your head with BS.
Get out off the sofa, off the net, shoot a few things with different calibers then come back and say for sure what you learned. But I bet you won’t. No experience plus online hype equals another bad actor posting about how effective something is.
Everything I’ve shot has stopped all hostile behavior, period. It doesn’t matter, what you want to know about calibers and guns. Its NOT relevant to the discussion.
You buying what worked for me will not make you able to deal with situations or shoot better.
“Tackle some training deficiencies first. Go out and issue M193 ball (the predecessor to original M855 to Delta and they will hand anyone their ass on a platter because they are bringing training and technology together. … You can’t bypass the first step. You need guys who can hit targets in a variety of situations under stress, bringing the skill to the table that warrants that ammo.”
Truth Larry Vickers style. Im not a fan boy, just a recognizer of truth.
Buying things wont help you.
Learn about how to control breathing, under stress.
Then get under more stress and learn how to use what you have today, to put rounds on target.
Small targets, fast.
Then worry about what the SSNS guys are using to do it. Equipment does not equal ability. You are better off getting really good with a 10/22 than not hitting anything with a 57cal dragon slayer you brag to your online forums about.
Thats todays rant:)
