Cody Lundin Books
Im not a fan of Dual Survival or whatever those drama shows are, however………
Cody Lundin writes very well. He uses an easy conversational tone and since I live in Arizona I understand everything he references concerning the dangers of this particular environment and how it can eat you if you aren’t paying attention. This part of the world kills people with regularity, if you pay attention to the rate of desert travelers ( that’s a polite word for it) who die in transit.
I really enjoyed this book because I live in the same temperature ranged climate most likely to cause hypothermia, which is between 30-50 degrees F. Not all that cold but very easy to be complacent in what is normally considered to be mildly cool. Its that cool at night much of the year here, except the summer months. Nights here lately have been cooler than normal, with day time temps in the 70’s.
If you want personal survival broken down to the very basics, this book covers it well. Its all about maintaining a consistent internal temperature to keep your self alive. It really is the simple things that kill you or make a difference in coming out alive.
The second I highly recommend is
This book picks up where the first leaves you. In the first book it covered you being lost and waiting for rescue. This book is more oriented for preppers looking for techniques for dealing with different disasters or weather conditions and how to prep for each type. Not surprisingly this is a very entertaining book to read and is a good coffee table book for conversation starters
These are good starter books for a prepper library
You won’t waste your money on either of them
